New study – Process Technologies

The new EconSight for the Bavarian Industry Association examines importance of process technologies for the industrial sector.

The study uses patent analysis to examine global research activities in key process technologies and their significance for major future technology fields. A high level of expertise in process and procedural technologies is extremely important for the industrial base. This is particularly relevant in the ongoing transformation processes. Those who master the further development, optimisation and renewal of individual production steps are well positioned to process new raw materials, use alternative energy sources and develop new functionalities. The results highlight the technological leadership of China, the United States and Japan. Germany is well positioned but needs to gain momentum in order to remain competitive internationally.
