Introducing DynaPTI – a dynamic patent technology indicator

We have developed a new patent-based indicator that reflects company-level dynamics regarding their technological quality and technological activity. We combine patent quality dynamics and patent quantity dynamics with machine-learning techniques for an index-based company comparison. Our new dynamic patent technology indicator (DynaPTI) provides precise and up-to-date assessments about company-level innovation activities. We have published the concept in “Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence” in cooperation with the Center for International Economics and Business at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
