The vertical axis shows the European share of the selected region in the individual technologies, the horizontal axis shows the change in share from 2015 to 2019 in percentage points, and the sphere size shows the share of the respective technology in the region’s overall technology portfolio – the degree of specialization in the technology. All technologies to the right of the vertical axis have increased their share in the last 5 years. Spheres, which are on the top right, have a high share of the total European patents in this technology and have been able to increase this share in the last years. Spheres that are bottom left have a lower European share and (if they are left of the vertical axis) have seen their share decrease in recent years. If you move the mouse over the individual spheres, you will find more information on the selected technology in the region.
